Posterior fossa subdural haematoma associated with anticoagulant therapy.

چکیده
This is a report of spontaneous posterioir fossa subdural haematoma associated with anticoagulation therapy. The possibility of posterior fossa lesions related to spontaneous haemorrhage is suggested by the combination of severe headache and increasing disturbance of consciousness associated with signs of brain-stem decompensation. A thorough neurological evaluation including appropriate contrast studies will help rule out a supratentorial lesion. This is a neurological emergency which can be successfully treated by early detection and prompt surgical decompression. This is the second reported case of spontaneous subdural haematoma of the posterior fossa occurring during anticoagulant therapy.

Chronic subdural hematoma of the posterior fossa associated with cerebellar hemorrhage: report of rare disease with MRI findings.
Chronic subdural hematoma of the posterior fossa is an uncommon entity, and spontaneous lesions are very rarely described, occurring mostly during anticoagulation therapy. The association of the posterior fossa chronic subdural hematoma with spontaneous parenchymal hemorrhage without anticoagulation therapy was never related in the literature, to our knowledge. We describe a case of a 64 year-o...
متن کاملSpontaneous spinal subdural hematoma in a geriatric patient under anticoagulant
Spinal subdural haematoma is rare and may be associated with blood dyscrasia, anticoagulant therapy, lumbar puncture, rupture of arteriovenous malformation, tumour bleeding and spinal trauma. We present a 65-year-old female with history of hypertension and atrial fibrillation. She was on anticoagulant. She presented to the emergency department with an acute lumbar back pain, severe paraparesis ...
متن کاملSubdural haematoma associated with an arachnoid cyst after repetitive minor heading injury in ball games.
We report the case of a chronic subdural haematoma caused by repetitive heading of a football which led to the diagnosis of a middle fossa arachnoid cyst. The association between arachnoid cysts and subdural haematoma is discussed as are safety implications in sporting injuries.

After appropriate investigations she was treated...
متن کاملIntracranial arachnoid cyst associated with traumatic intracystic hemorrhage and subdural haematoma.
BACKGROUND Brain arachnoid cysts are fluid collections of developmental origin. They are commonly detected incidentally in patients imaged for unrelated symptoms. CASE DESCRIPTION A 15-year-old healthy boy with a recent history of head trauma experienced headache that gradually worsened over the course of 10 days. He underwent CT and MRI brain scans which revealed the presence of subdural hae...
